The incident occurred in the area of Horizon Blvd. On Tuesday, September 8th from 8am-12pm, the Tigard Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is conducting a pedestrian safety enforcement detail at two marked crosswalks in Tigard. Officers assisted on a CPR call in the 12600 block of SW Karen Street, where a 50-year-old woman was taken to the hospital by medical crews. On Wednesday, July 25, a semi-truck fatally hit a 32 year-old man seated in a wheelchair, as he attempted to cross Pacific Highway. An item of his personal property was also stolen. At approximately 7:15 a.m. on November 14, a 9-1-1 call alerted Tigard Police that an intruder was attempting entry into a residence located at 11075 SW Sage Terrace in Tigard. The man found deceased along the Fanno Creek Trail last week has been positively identified. During the most recent High Visibility Enforcement Campaign (HVE) which began on December 14th and ended January 2, 2019; nine drivers were arrested for DUII. At 1:10 p.m. this afternoon (7/2/20), Tigard Police officers responded to the report of an attempted carjacking at the Washington Square Mall. In cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Tigard Police will be participating in a grant-funded program to promote high visibility enforcement (HVE). The two primary officers in this incident were Stephen Mosier and Christopher Gilbert . Tigard Police would like to take this opportunity to remind parents the importance of speaking to their children regarding safety.
